Straight away I knew I was going to enjoy this book and love the main character, Claire. The writing lured me in from the start with the vivid description of her gaining entry into her parent’s home without alerting them as if the stakes were very, very high.
The character seemed to act her age and I felt the age with her vivid inner monologue. Her mind drifts with her future possibilities while living in the now, not deciding on anything but just living. With the introduction of the minor characters the story sets off. I particularly enjoyed the lack of any stereotyping in the book and showing life, warts and all. The transition from youth to adult is such a precarious time, or should be.
I loved the book and I have that gushy, good feeling from having just finished it.
