There are no guarantees in life.

This is something people often say, but sometimes that often-repeated maxim can’t be truly understood until life pulls the rug out from under you.

Anna, the protagonist of All the little Moments, a new novel Ylva will be publishing in 2015 by Australian author G Benson, finds this truth out the hard way, when her brother and his wife suddenly die and she must take in their two children. Becoming an adoptive parent was just about the last thing on Anna’s mind: With a promising medical career and a steady girlfriend, she thought she knew where fate was taking her. But now she must tear herself away from a life happily focused on herself and agree to move to Melbourne so she can shepherd her brother’s children—as well as herself—into a hastily created family unit and out the other side of the grieving process.

On top of everything, her girlfriend has dumped her, and Anna soon sees her life spiraling into something nearly unrecognizable. Filled with self-doubt and questioning every move she makes, Anna feels like she is making a mess of the entire thing—especially when she collides with the long-legged Lane. Anna barely has time to brush her teeth in the morning, let alone entertain the idea of letting a new woman into her now very complicated life. But while Anna is still trying to figure out whether she can trust another woman to get close, a bigger threat suddenly rears its head, and Anna must decide whether or not to actively choose this new life she’s made, once and for all.

In All the little Moments, first-time author G Benson has crafted a masterful tale of self-discovery, fledgling romance, and the will to share one’s heart, even when life offers no guarantees. We loved the strong female characters driving this story, and we think you will too.
