Jane Shambler – :
Wow, what can I say that would do justice to this book. If I could give 10 stars I would. Maybe if I could work out how to make the stars flash. Yes, I’m serious. This book is beyond excellent.
The story line is good, the scenery breathtaking and the characters are really likable with the exception of one or two. I really didn’t know Argentina had such a beautiful glacier. Nope, no pictures. Bramhall describes it with such precision that you can’t help but picture it in your mind. I even looked it up and yes it is spectacular.
The two main characters are Rhian a marketing consultant and Jayden a very experienced and skilled mountain climber. They have chemistry even if they don’t see it. There is action, adventure, and so much that will make you laugh. Some of the secondary characters are colourful. It is a really good ‘ feel good ‘ novel tinged with bad memories. Both the main characters are dealing with their pasts. Both are reluctant to trust. But together with the help of Rhian’s stepmother Rachel and Jayden’s sister Fen they finally learn to trust each other.
There is so much I want to say, but honestly if I start I’ll end up telling you everything. You need to read this book. As you can probably tell I loved it and really hope Bramhasll brings out more like this. She has definitely moved up my favorite authors list. Enjoy!

I didn’t know much about Argentina, their mountains and mountain climbing. But with this book you’ll start to love it. Andrea Bramhall describes the beauty of these mountains, glaciers and nature so well, it made me want to visit this place.
The story of Rhian, a marketing person in her mothers company and Jay, a well known climber in the scene, have to work together to produce a TV show. They both have to work through their problems with trust, not liking each other in the beginning and pretending later being a couple. But pretending is hard, if you have feelings for the other one. It’s a pretty awesome journey, I really recommend this book.

Jayden Harris is probably the best female mountain climber in the world but an avalanche at Mount Everest changes her life personally and professionally and she decides she can’t be part of that world anymore. Rhian Phillips is an advertising executive charged with producing a reality TV show to help sell adventure clothing. She has issues of her own preventing her from living the life she should. When the two women are brought together the pull between them is strong and intense, although neither will admit it.
Andrea Bramhall has written a wonderful love story that takes place in a stunning landscape. Her beautifully descriptive writing took me right there and made me want more. The attraction between Jayden and Rhian was emotional, tear-jerking at times and very sexy. I loved both main characters. Jayden was wounded and suffering after the Everest disaster and I felt for her and hoped that she would find her happy every after. Rhian found it hard to believe in herself and needed to see that she was an person worth of love and adoration. There was a fair amount of tension in the story as we followed the escapades of the contestants on the reality show. And a boo-hiss character that I can guarantee you will hate. It was an addictive story and one I was reluctant to put down. I hope Andrea Bramhall has a sequel in the offing!

Rocío Toboso – :
Jayden Harris is an expert mountain climber who after an avalanche loses more than her passion and desire to climb. She turns her back on her love, the mountains, and her family.
Rhian Phillips is a marketing executive who is chosen by her mother to produce and runa TV show on climbers.
The beginning of these women was not the best since Jayden feels Rhian made her do it. But their relationship develops beautifully. They start having feelings for each other but thinking the opposite about the oher one.
I have read many, many romances and the love declaration in this book is one of the sweetest I have read in a while.
We can find everything in this book, suspense, fear, from hatred to love, from sadness to happiness. The surroundings are so beautifully described that I would love to visit that place some day and the characters so strong, so real, that I would have loved to have some of them in front of me and smack them.
I totally recommend this book.

This is a beautiful story and the setting is absolutely gorgeous. The author did a really good job with the story line. I have never been a big fan of reality television, normally I stay far away from anything of the sort. But if this were a reality show, I’d absolutely watch it! The beginning of the tale is heart-wrenching, but it only made me want to know more about one of the main characters. Even if you’re not into climbing, read it for the characters and the beautiful story.

I don’t know much about climbing so I wasn’t sure if this was going to be my type of book. I was pleasantly suprised by how much I enjoyed reading “Rock and a Hard Place’. The story revolves around Jayden Harris (climber) and Rhian Phillips (marketing executive).
A climbing competition with the mountains of Patagonia as the backdrop, Jayden and Rhian have to find a way of getting their jobs done whilst family drama and a hard ass boss make things interesting behind the scenes. The secondary characters and storylines add this great adventure story. I really did love Rhian’s stepmother Rachel.
I would call this one an adventure story with a side of romance. Highly recommend this book to all. It’s a great read right from the start. Having read this book, I’m now looking at other books by Andrea Bramhall as I like her writing style and character development.
I received an arc in return for an honest review.
Carolyn McBride – :
I don’t climb and I’ve never seen Argentina, but I couldn’t help but be swept away but this story. The settings were so vivid! From the hotel to the slopes, I felt as if I was really there. and that’s as close as I’d like to get to an avalanche, thanks! But this book’s characters feel so real, you want to sit down with some of them and have a coffee. I enjoyed this book so much, I’m looking forward to reading it again.
Read this–you won’t be disappointed.

A beautiful novel with a slow burning romance in an adventurous surrounding.
The places and beautiful landscapes, where the novel takes place, were descriebed very detailed and pictorial. You want to go there, to see it by yourself. I‘m not a climber but I love very much to be in the nature. Bramhall has a wonderful way to describe everything.
I loved both main characters from the beginning. When Rhian and Jayden met for the first time, they both are still struggling with some issues from the past. For that they start on the wrong foot to work together.
Jayden has to overcome her demons from a disastrous avalanche on a trip to Mount Everest. Can she trust herself and her abilities to keep the other climbers as safe as possible? And also will she take the risk to lose her heart again?
Since her father throws her out of his life, Rhian has to overcome the pain and anger of the rejection and starts to trust other people again. But sometime that’s easier said then done. Can she trust her feelings or are the doubts stronger?
Both are fighting with insecurities and that leads to misunderstandings and misinterpretations. Sometimes you want to shake them. But as it’s in the real world, people don’t always say what they really thinking or feeling.
And I also liked very much the secondary characters. They were very important for the storyline, to keep up the tension for the competition and the interaction between the characters. I’m not a fan of reality tv shows, but maybe this one I would watch.
The romance is slow burning, but this makes her more believable. I was impressed of Bramhalls ability to bring the feelings and struggles between the pages. There was not much sex, but there was a beautiful and hot love scene.
I recommend this book for everybody who loves aromance in a breathtaking and competitive surrounding with people who get to your heart.
My rating 4,5 stars

It should have been a 5 stars. I loved it until the last chapter where I was really disappointed. Where is the contest? Where are the challenges? What about the last climbs?
I feel ripped of the last part. Maybe the writer was in a hurry to finish it. It was so great until that. Patagonia, the characters, the mountains, everything was well written. Too bad at least 2 or 3 chapters are missing.
