When we find out cool things our authors are doing, we like to pass on the word. So when we found out today that ABC News online in Australia featured Ylva Publishing author Jane Waterton and her upcoming book Times of Our Lives in an article today, we just had to mention it.

The article, which you can read here, heavily features Jane talking about the problem in Australia of limited retirement community options for LGBT folks in Australia and how she was inpsired to write Times of Our Lives, which Ylva will release later this year. Ylva Publishing even got a quick mention.

Way cool, Jane and congratulations!

Thanks. A fascinating and thought provoking lead. I don’t know if there are LGBT retirement communities in the USA or actually in other countries. Do any of you know of such places. If so, please post them. Thanks-ChristieP

Well, as it turns out, a Google search turned up this informative article, which claims that there are two existing LGBT retirement communities in the U.S. – one in Los Angeles and one in Santa Fe. It also cites a statistic by The Lesbian and Gay Aging Issues Network that says there are 28 other LGBT retirement communities in the planning or development stages in the US.

It’s apparently a growing niche market.
